چکیده
Abstract This study investigates experimentally and numerically the performance of externally prestressed reinforced high strength concrete (HSC) beams with central openings. Seven rectangular HSC (six openings a reference solid beam) are loaded incrementally to failure. All have same dimensions, reinforcement ratio variable size. Experimentally, results show that, appearance first flexural crack stiffness reduction largely governed by opening height. In contrast, length greatly affects presence shear obtained values strains in stirrups. Additionally, height when combined can affect top- bottom-bars failure load teste beams. Numerically, three-dimensional nonlinear finite element analysis using ANSYS has been carried-out analyze seventy (70) Based on numerical results, general formula predict ultimate moment is generated verified. It be used carrying capacity aging elements retrofitted external prestressing techniques.

Non - linear analysis of externally prestressed concrete beams
In an external prestressing system, there is no strain compatibility between the cable and the concrete at every cross-section, the increment of cable strain must be evaluated by taking into account the whole structure, rather than performing the calculation at each section, independently. In this study, a method for the calculation of cable strain, which is based on the deformation compatibili...
متن کاملExperimental Study on Calculation Methods for Short-term Cracks in High-strength Reinforced Concrete Beams
Abstract: High-strength steel has increasingly become widely used among various engineering practices, but the relevant provisions of the codes lag behind its development. Six sets of experiments on simple supported beams reinforced with HTB600 and HTB700 rebars subject to bending loading were conducted in this study to 1) investigate the conditions of crack development, 2) contrast the calcula...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation of Debonding Failure of Reinforced Concrete Beams Strengthened with Externally Bonded Frp
As the life age of the existing structures are required to meet the changing demands on civil infrastructures. So strengthening and retrofitting are required. Recently many techniques to strengthen the reinforced concrete beams in flexural by using fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) had appeared. The most famous technique among them is strengthening the (RC) beams with externally bonded FRP sheet t...
متن کاملFlexural Testing of High Strength Reinforced Concrete Beams Strengthened with CFRP Sheets
The objective of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of externally bonded CFRP sheets to increase the flexural strength of reinforced high strength concrete (HSC) beams. Four-point bending flexural tests to complete failure on six concrete beams, strengthened with different layouts of CFRP sheets were conducted. Three-dimensional nonlinear finite element (FE) models were adopted by A...
متن کاملFlexural Performance of High-strength Prestressed Concrete-encased Concrete-filled Steel Tube Sections
The sections composed of concrete and steel, which include concrete-encased concrete-filled tubes, generally have defects due to the low tensile strength of concrete. Therefore, an appropriate method was used for the combination of concrete-filled tubes (CFT) and prestressing strands which is encased in concrete. The conventional design guidelines are commonly developed for materials with norma...
